Accessibility statement

Unia is committed to making the eDiv learning platform accessible, in line with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This statement applies to the eDiv Moodle platform.

Compliance status

This platform is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA (EN 301 549).

An official evaluation with FPS BOSA (the Belgian monitoring body for public-sector web accessibility) is in progress. The final compliance level will be the one in the BOSA report, once it is published.

This statement will be updated after that audit, and at least once a year.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 21 September 2026, based on:

  • an internal self-assessment (eDiv theme, navigation, legal pages, content editor);
  • an audit of a representative module page that includes an H5P exercise (lesson “Anti-discrimination legislation”);
  • a review of eDiv H5P types (single choice, true/false, drag and drop, sort paragraphs, sign language).

Planned method for the official evaluation: audit by FPS BOSA.

Non-accessible content

The following items are not yet fully compliant. A remediation plan is under way.

Module content

  • Older pages still use a heading 1 in the body, while the module title is already a heading 1. The editor no longer offers heading 1; existing headings are remapped to heading 2 on display.
  • Some spatial H5P drag-and-drop exercises (Drag and Drop) cannot be used with the keyboard alone (criteria 2.1.1 and 2.5.7). A text alternative or equivalent exercise is provided where possible.
  • H5P exercises are shown in an iframe: the platform now provides an accessible name for the iframe; inner content depends on the H5P type.

Moodle interface

  • Some native Moodle components (secondary tabs, admin menus, messaging) are not fully under our control. They will be reassessed with BOSA.

Media

  • Sign-language videos do not always have captions: they are intended for deaf people who read LSF/NGT. The equivalent content is in the page text.

Alternatives

Where possible, eDiv provides:

  • the page text as the main content;
  • a sign language button (LSF / NGT) on the relevant passages and exercises;
  • a standard H5P version and a sign-language version, at the learner’s choice.

If information remains inaccessible, contact us: we will provide an alternative within a reasonable time.
